Tecun Uman テクン・ウマンの日
Saturday, March 25th, 2006Tecun Uman was the last ruler of the Quiché people, in the highlands of what is now Guatemala. According to the Kaqchikel annals, he was slain by Spanish Conquistador Don Pedro de Alvarado while waging battle against the Spaniards on February 20, 1524.
On February 20th every year all the school children in Guatemala dress up in traditional clothing and march thru the town followed by a party at the school. Jay is fashionably dressed in the style of clothing from San Antonio. A small village located on the shores of Lake Atitlan.
